Simon,
Several people have contacted me to say that the latest army builder frequently comes up and asks for a password and then refuses to go any further. I have had the same problem.
Sorry for the lack of more technical detail as none of us are quite sure why this problem is triggered.
I suppose that I will have to induce the problem to establish more facts.
Lance.
Lance,
First off, ensure that you have copied the latest version of the army builder from the MeG site (Final version 06/1/2020) onto your computer. I have checked it out and cannot find any issue with it. What I suggest you avoid doing is copying an existing army you built previously. You may have inadvertently corrupted the file.
If you still have a problem then can you specify what version of Excel you are using? Does the problem occur every time you try to open the file? This will help us track down any problem.
The file is protected so if it is prompting you for a password it is because Excel is trying to do something that needs the sheet to be unprotected.
Richard
Hi Richard,
Currently using the 100120 builder, the latest one showing in the rules section.
At least two of us are using Libre Office.
Problem seems to be started by a mis - typed entry that sets off the request for the password. Which I am guessing is causing the issue?
For me it happens more often than not and completely locks the computer so that I have to Ctrl - Alt - Delete to get away from it.
I will delete this download and start from scratch to see if this persists, which I have done before.
Thanks for the help,
Lance.
I'm getting the same issue with a fresh download form the site, not previously opened or saved. I find I have to be quick enough to Cancel whatever it's trying to do and then quite Libre Office to get rid of it.
I also find that when I enter a number in the UG column the UG total under the MeG logo doesn't increase the count, just stays at 8 (see three regarding army builder auto-complete). Checking that cell entry it says =N71, looking at N71 it is correctly filled in as 15 but the UG cell isn't picking that up. Is there some punctuation mark or something missing from the cell where it says =N71?
Update: I found I had to unprotect the sheet and then re-enter =N71 and it now correctly picks up the UG.
