Title: Magna terrain size
Post by: Sgt Steiner on July 21, 2020, 01:17:47 PM
Hi

Could not find anything in search.

Are terrain pieces and Deployment Zones the same size in BW as Maximus when using smaller Magna table size and unit footprints ?

Cheers

Yes.  Although the terrain pieces are potentially bigger you may find that fewer will fit on the smaller table so it sort of evens itself out.  Open spaces are relatively bigger as well.  Keep the rules consistent where we can is the philosophy.

Please ignore this.  As Simon has pointed out to me, Magna terrain sizes are 2/3 normal size rounded up.  It indicates this at the bottom of the PBS sheet.

Apologies.

Roger that.

Does mean central zone is reduced from 25 BW to 10BW (and a mere 5BW in Pacto), the defended flank terrain more impactful potentially.
But indeed easier to keep everything consistent.

Cheers

Pacto changes the ground scale, so in Pacto (see page 13) so all the terrain sizes are half normal.  Magna retains the normal ground scale.

Simon pointed out my error in Magna terrain sizes.  They are 2/3 rounded up. Apologies.

Yes we got a bit clever at the end and adjusted generals and terrain to make it a continuum.
It's at the bottom of the PBS sheet.  Si

I think one page that details all the differences of Pacto, Magna and Maximus would be very useful. Having to turn to all the different parts of the rules and QRSs is somewhat time consuming.
