Popping this up as it causes regular questions and I don't think it has been discussed here since Compendium release to allow Simon to make a public statement/explanation.
The following is a series of questions/statements and answers from a conversation on WhatsApp to set the scene (slightly edited for clarity):
R: In charge phase enemy of a TuG has evaporated. The TuG pursues. Can that TuG do any move after pursuit if you are not in contact with enemy?
Si: Depends if it charged or not. If it did it has made its prompted action. I'f not it can. Which makes sense as the enemy were broken in some other way - KaBs perhaps.
N: The unit had not made a charge in the move, its opponents were from the previous turn and had been broken by another unit in the charge phase and so from what Si has just said could then make a prompted move after any pursuit.
Si: Yes indeed. So, the new charge did the job leaving the original ones free to cause more chaos.
R: So, the unit gets to pursue and then do a prompted action?
Si: Benefits he who has a clever supporting charge to be done. And may give some potential benefit to echelon charges. When it works.....
N: I have found a bit of a wrinkle to the pursuit question on Page 99 points 2 and 3. If you have reformed once out of combat (compulsory and immediate if you are not in a legal formation) and pursue then you may not make further moves that turn. If, however, you have reformed but not pursued you are able to make moves as normal for the rest of the turn from what Si has said.
I'll do that one tomorrow with a steadier head!
