What Spartan infantry are you allowed to take if you opt for Spartans with Satrapal allies in 408BC?
The period 449 -394 lists infantry "except in Asia".
As the alliance at that date I assume refers to the campaign around Chalcedon does that mean the Spartans can only take the Mercenary hoplites listed as from 428BC plus the odds and sods from the general part of the list at the end?
Speculation welcome.
Definitive rulings even more so.
There is an error in the list.
The intention was to allow 12-30 Spartan hoplites to Spartans in Asia prior to Agesilaus. Up to 18 can be replaced with mercenaries (which really only gives the opportunity to downgrade them to Poor). This appears to have been overlooked. I will add to the errata. As you say, you can also take the odds and sods.

Cheers! No Hippeis I would guess?
No Hippeis.
I don't see a restriction in the current 2021 list that restrict satrapal allies, just the date, which reading the list as written allows taking of Hippeis. Presumably satrapal allies are supposed to be limited to Asia
