Title: Middle Assyrians
Post by: Raiderd on December 27, 2019, 07:49:32 PM
I'm starting to paint an Assyrian army, and am looking for a good source for the heavy infantry. I'm modeling my army after Tiglath-Pileser I 1050 BC and do not want use Neo-Assyrian Empire figures. It seems wrong, like using Late Romans for Republican Romans. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 'Middle Assyrians' are of the late Bronze Age 1500-c.1000 BC and therefore would have resembled such armies as Mitanni. The ranges of Essex and MM dubbed as 'Middle Assyrian are actually early Neo-Assyrian.

If you read the text of the WRG Stillman and Tallis carefully in the Mitanni or Kassite Babylonian sections it is somewhere in there
