Title: Well, that's the quickest I've ever lost a general!
Post by: mad lemmey on December 23, 2019, 08:00:03 PM
Turn 2, light horse failed to evade a cavalry charge 1BW away (after pushback turn 1), okay, generals with unit, takes a KaB, skull! Didn't even make it to the end of the charge phase.
Drat.
Neighbouring units all passed their KaBs,  ironically!
Is this a record.

Hard to see how you lose one in turn 1.
So I would think a tie the record in Mortem et Gloriam.

I did see someone lose a general and an entire army in turn 1 in DBM 200.
Luckily from the opposite seat!

Yep. I did that in DBM. Hit two kinked columns of chariots with Generals at the end of column. Bang, game over.

An ambush turn 1 could lose a general I guess...

Even an ambush can't be charges though so would have to charge someone.  So LH in ambush in centre one with enemy skirmishers 6BW away is there only way I suspect.  So sounds like a Mortem et Gloriam record.

My one was in the old DBM days when you could ambush in the centre.  Put 6 wide knights behind a hill on enemy half of table. Poor chap marchers legionaries up the hill. Downhill knight charge had a general dad and game over turn 1.

Also one in doubles was funny.  Chap had generals n side of a massive middle command of Britons.  Ottoman Janissaries got up close on a road and shot him dead.  Rolled a 1.  Command broke.  It was over half the army.  They must have loved him and wanted to allege home for the funeral!
