Title: Later Crusader commands
Post by: Bruno Potin on December 23, 2019, 11:13:27 AM
Hello,
I jus finished my Later Crusader army and saw the new list ...well some more paintings to do  ::) and 3 questions :
- one can take 2 professional generals (military orders), right?
-can a military order general command only non military order troops ?
- how these Brother Knights must be considered ? Are they military order troops, can they be represented by Templars for example?
I hope my questions do not sound too stupid  ;)
Thank you
Bruno

Correct.

The list note "They can command other troops as well as their own military order contingent." implies that they must take military order troops - the "as well as their own ..." part.

Maybe could be more explicit. One for Richard?

The Brother knights are military order troops. Like the Turcopoles line they are in the military order sub-section.

Many thanks Nikgaukroger, it's totally clear for me now  :D ....maybe the part about troops under military order command was just not clear for me because of it is an english subtility I did not catch.
I did not catch "One for Richard ?" either ;-)
Wish you a merry Christmas time

This is Nik implying I can improve the notes for the list.
A military order general must command a military order contingent, so must take the minimums for a military order contingent, but can also command other troops.

There are no minima for a military order contingent.

Ah yes!  Now I see the issue.

One question that springs to mind would be why would you want to take a Military Order sub-general if you are not going to take any military order troops?

Richard

The reason could be to have 2 professional generals ?

Yes, I love it ;-)
One last query: since brother knights are military order, one can have 2 TUG of them if 2 professional generals ?

The maximums listed in the military order contingents apply to each contingent.

So yup - expensive though if you make them Fanatic.
